About Dean

Dean Russell BSc(Hons) MPhil FRSA is the founder of epifny consulting, the creative communications strategists (www.epifny.consulting), where he helps ambitious brands and agencies grow through the use of data insights, creative campaigns and business strategy.

Prior to setting up his own business, Dean was the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Creative Strategy Director for LEWIS PR, previously led the UK Digital Practice for Fleishman Hillard, was a Parliamentary Candidate (for Luton North in the 2015 General Election), physicist and is a children’s book author and Fellow at the RSA.

Outside of work and politics, Dean puts his energy into a range of voluntary projects. Along with being a former District Councillor from 2010-2014, his volunteering experience includes acting as a charity campaigner, an NHS, education and local government advisor through to working with sectors from technology to entertainment.

1994-1998: Studied Physics with Business Studies in Leicester at De Montfort University

1998-2001: Academic Physics Researcher with Council for the Central Laboratory of the Research Councils (CCLRC)

2001: Moved to London to begin career in communications and digital consultancy
